Galen Kuellmer, 29.

Billboard #1932 at the intersection of Dupont and Dundas Street, Toronto, ON.

May 1 - June 1, 2022

On May 12, 2004, Galen Kuellmer was struck and killed while riding a bicycle near Dupont and Dundas Street.

A ghost bike was installed at the intersection by Advocacy for Respect for Cyclists (ARC). A mural with one of Kuellmer’s photographs was also painted along the underpass with the motif of a bicycle in his memory.

The memorial bike has since been removed and the mural was vandalized sometime in 2021. This exhibition is of Kuellmer’s mural before it was ruined and is installed on a billboard above where the original mural was painted.

This public installation was a part of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, 2022.
